L’Arche Toronto Board
Amanda Hudson is an HR professional, entrepreneur and coach. Her HR career spans the nonprofit, education and high tech sectors. She currently runs her own consulting practice and teaches at York University. She holds an MBA from Queen’s University and a Business Administration diploma in Human Resources from Algonquin College. She is a designated Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) and a Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR).
A graduate of Ryerson University and the University of Leicester. Iris Michaels has more than 15 years of experience in health care administration. As an industry expert in cost accounting of patient care, policy and integration, her experience ranges from management of large community hospitals to small and rural hospitals. She also worked in the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care developing funding models and policy and gained experience in non-profit governance. Iris also worked in the private sector managing effective implementations of accounting and management reporting softwares across Canada and the USA. Currently, she is serving Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance as Director of Decision Support and Financial Planning.
Iris is also a big supporter of the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides. She also enjoys travelling and baking. She enjoys taking long walks with her dog and young family.
Lived and worked in L’Arche communities for many years [L’Arche Trosly 1966-67; L’Arche Daybreak 1972-73; L’Arche Frontenac (now Arnprior) 1975-87], and a member of the L’Arche Toronto Board since 2010. With wife, Mary Lou, founded L’Arche Frontenac, was the community Director for 12 years, and served as L’Arche Regional Coordinator and a member of the International Council of L’Arche for 3 years (1975-78). Also worked as a secondary school teacher for 20 years, including 18 years as a Catholic secondary school Chaplain, until retirement in 2007.
Kathi has enjoyed being a member of this Board for 8 years and is a human resources professional, currently employed at a large mental health agency. Her HR career spans the nonprofit, corporate and high tech sectors. She has spent the past 20 years creating, building and managing the HR department in small to medium-sized organizations and is pleased to provide HR expertise to the L’Arche Toronto Board. Kathi has a B.A. from Ryerson University and a CHRL designation from the HRPA of Ontario.
Bronwyn Hannelas is an Associate Member of l’Arche Toronto and recently celebrated her 10-year anniversary with the community. She formally joined the community as a live-in assistant at Simpson House and has since been connected with Greenwood and Mortimer, her current home of connection. She is a civil servant with the Ontario government where she works in policy development for the Ministry of Economic Development and Growth.
Bronwyn grew up in the GTA and currently lives in south Etobicoke where she enjoys strolls along the lake with her husband Yannick, their toddler Jeremie and dog Rex.
David Livingston-Lowe has worked in social services for over 25 years. He currently manages a multicultural elderly persons centre in Toronto with South Riverdale Community Health Centre. He has previously worked for supportive housing agencies in operations management, program management and consumer support, with a special interest in supported employment, community engagement and life skills education. David also pursues an active interest in local environmental stewardship, therapeutic and community gardens and food security projects.
