Jean Vanier talks about how he started L’Arche in 1964.
L’Arche began in 1964 when Canadian and Templeton Prize winner, Jean Vanier, invited three men from a local institution to live with him and create home together in Trosly-Breuil, France. Jean was horrified by society’s disdain for these men and others like them.
Today L’Arche is an international network of 147 communities in 35 countries where people with and without intellectual disabilities live, work, and create home together.
